English Premier League side Brentford Football Club has completed the permanent purchase of young Nigerian defender Benjamin Frederick.
The club decided to exercise its option to sign Frederick from Kaduna-based Simoiben Academy, owned by Super Eagles winger Moses Simon and his wife.
The 18 year old defender has inked a four-year contract that will see him don the Brentford colors until 2028.
Having honed his skills at the esteemed Simoiben Academy, Frederick's remarkable talent and potential have earned him a well-deserved opportunity to ply his trade in the English Premier League (EPL). Brentford's decision to trigger the buy option underscores their confidence in Frederick's abilities and their commitment to nurturing young talents.
Fredrick's meteoric rise from the academy to the elite level is a testament to his dedication and hard work. Despite only departing from the academy and Nigeria a few months ago, Frederick has quickly ascended to the ranks of the elite, poised to make his mark in one of the most competitive football leagues in the world.
Transitioning seamlessly to Brentford's U21s, Frederick's journey showcases the huge heart of Moses Simon, who is dedicated to providing opportunities for young talents to thrive in football. From his early days in the academy to starring for Brentford's U23s against formidable opponents such as Spurs and Man City, Frederick's rapid progression speaks volumes about Simon's commitment to nurturing the next generation of football stars.
He is now set to feature more prominently in the EPL from next season at Brentford. Eyes will be focused on the youngster to see how he progresses, as the 2025 AFCON and 2026 World Cup draws closer.
