Victor Okoh Boniface has secured his third consecutive Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award, solidifying his remarkable performance in October. The Nigerian striker outshone competitors Xavi Simon from RB Leipzig and Brajan Gruda from Mainz 05 to clinch the coveted prize.
Having already claimed the Rookie and Player of the Month titles in August, and being a nominee for both awards in September, the 22-year-old has seamlessly adapted to life in the Bundesliga.
In three league matches throughout October, Boniface scored in the Matchday 7 derby against Cologne and provided an assist in the league leaders' 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg, amassing a total of 10 goal involvements by Matchday 10. His contributions have been instrumental in Xabi Alonso's team's impressive start to the season.
With 15 attempts on goal during the month, a league-high, Boniface has now reached a tally of 54 for the campaign, surpassing Bayern Munich's Harry Kane, who trails with 36 attempts in the German top flight.
Capping off an exceptional October, Boniface also notched his first international goal for Nigeria, marking a significant milestone since making his debut in September.
