Nigeria born United States of America based coach, Abdullahi Usman Biffo has commended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for appointing Coach Manu Garba as the Head Coach of National U17 team.
The former Katsina United coach while speaking on the appointment of Coach Manu Garba from his base in United State, commended the NFF for picking a credible coach like Manu Garba to tutor the Golden Eaglets team.
According to Biffo;
" I will say the Nigeria Football Federation have done pretty well to have selected a credible and highly experienced coach like Manu Garba for Eaglets job. I must give Kudos to the NFF Board and the Technical Committee for this crucial selection. Biffo posited.
"Permit me to use this medium to congratulate coach Manu Garba on his appointment by the NFF as the head coach of the Nigeria U17 coach. Coach Manu have performed wonders with the youth team before and I think he's more than capable to lead the U17 team.
"Coach Manu's achievements in the same role can never be undermined, he led the Golden Eaglets to win the FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013.
The former Abia Warriors gaffer went further to canvas for people's support in order for Manu Garba to have a successful outing with the U17 team.
"Now that the appointment has been announced, I wish to call on all the stakeholders and lovers of the round leather game to throw their support behind the newly appointed coach in order for the team to have a successful outing.
Coach Manu is stepping into the Big shoes left by Coach Nduka Ugbade who failed to qualify the U17 team to the last U17 World Cup after they were eliminated by Burkina Faso at the Quarter Finals of the U17 AFCON in Algeria.
Coach Manu is expected to resume and take charge of the team’s preparations ahead of WAFU B U17 Championships that will take place in Ghana next month(May).
