_Calls Draw With Rangers a Blip_

A striker of Doma United FC, Barnabas Daniel has described Sunday's barren draw with Enugu Rangers at the Pantami Stadium, as "a blip and nothing more".

Speaking after the Matchday 19 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) which saw the promoted high-flyers drop one spot from second in the Group B log, Barnabas said the result was least expected, but Rangers fully deserved the point they got in Gombe.

The former Gombe United and Kwara United striker, however reiterated his optimism that Doma United should be able to favourably prosecute their outstanding game against Rivers United, and season finalé versus Abia Warriors and finish in the Top-3.

The three top finishers of the two groups, automatically qualifies for the NPFL Season ending Super Six, which will ultimately produce the 2022/23 Champions.

Long time leaders, Lobi Stars have already secured one of the 3 places, Rivers United are on 26 points, but have got 3 matches in hand, and Doma United who are also with 26 points, are 2 points clear of Sunshine Stars and Abia Warriors, and should be home and dry with a win and a draw, from those outstanding games.

"As a promoted side, I think the club had a lot to learn in the earlier part of the league, but during the break, I and two others joined and I think the coach got it spot on, our performances and results improved substantially ".he said.

Barnabas added that being that the Club Chairman has always motivated the players, by promptly paying their match allowances, they are duty bound to go out there and win matches, that will see them not just go to the Super Six to complete the numbers, but to make an impact.

Barnabas spoke to ckdmedia.ng in Abuja, moments after helping Doma United to oust little known Ozzalla United FC from Anambra State.

He came in as a second half substitute, when the well organized and talented minnows were still keeping the scoreline, goalless.

But a little pressure in the 67th minute broke their resistance as Simon Chisom scored an own goal, before Barnabas curled in the second from long range in the 79th minute and completed his brace in added time to make it 3-0 for Doma United, who are safely through to the Round of 32 of the 2023 National Federation Cup. www.ckdmedia.ng report.
