Awoniyi Grabs Forest First League Goal in 23 years

August, 14 2022.

Taiwo Awoniyi scored Nottingham Forest first Premier League goal in 23 years to earn Forest a 1-0 win over West Ham on their Premier League return.

The Nigerian, who joined newly promoted Nottingham Forest in the Premier League for a club-record fee of about £17 million, scored on his full debut but Forest had Dean Henderson to thank for saving Declan Rice's second-half penalty.

Awoniyi having failed to play Premier League football for Liverpool, enjoined a rich vein of form for Union Berlin last season in the Bundesliga. He’s Forest first goal scorer in the Premier League since Chris Bart-Williams on May 16,1999.
