AMINA DAURA SALUTES FLAMINGOS AS U17 GIRLS THRASH DR CONGO

March, 20 2022.

The Head Of Women Football, Nigeria Football Federation, Hajiya Amina Sani Zangon Daura has showered encomium on the national U17 girls team after the Flamingos fly past their DR Congo counterparts 5-0 on Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin to set up a third round tie with Egypt.

Mrs Daura who is estasic about the progress of Nigerian Women Football at various national levels, couldn't hide her excitement in an exclusive chat with Sharif Abdallah shortly after the game.

According to her, " I'm absolutely delighted with the progress of our Women national teams at various levels."

"Few weeks ago, our Super Falcons qualified for the AWCON to be hosted by Morocco in July. Also, our U20 Falconet are one step away from qualifying for the U20 women's world cup in Costa Rica. What else can I ask for? I doubt if it can get any better than what we're witnessing“.

She charged the team not to take their foot off the pedal and to aim for the ticket of U17 Women World Cup in India later this year.

The U17 girls defeated their Congolese counterparts 3-0 fortnight ago to achieve the double 8-0 on aggregate.

The Flamingos play Egypt next month with the final qualifying round slated for May.
