In football administration in Nigeria their has been so many individuals at the helm of affairs in the football governing body of the country.
In all the previous leaders of the football house in the country, one of them stands out, that person is Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick.
The 50 year old Delta State born football admistrator has been at the helm of affairs at NFF since 2014 when he was elected and was successfully re-elected in 2018.
In his reign so far as the president of the NFF Pinnick has been appointed to serve as member organizing committee of FIFA competitions, CAF first vice president and now he has a seat at the FIFA council.
Pinnick has also made in-roads to the Confederation of Africa Football. Apart from serving as first Vice-President of CAF, he is also a committee member of FIFA and was recently voted into the FIFA council no Nigerian football administrator in modern times have been able to achieve these feat.
The Super Eagles qualified for the World Cup in 2018 without facing the usual problematic qualification campaign in fact the booked the ticket with a game to spare. It is the same for the Africa Cup of Nations. The Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles also qualified for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and age grade World Cups in their respective categories.
Significantly, Nigerian home base players enjoyed the best treat under climes of exposure and international standard - In the history of Nigerian football Amaju Pinnick is the first to feature 95% home base players in a grade A international friendly.
We are yet to see the fruitful gains of the Amaju administration.
