AHMED MUSA IS ONE OF NIGERIA"S MOST INFLUENTIAL PLAYER OF ALL TIME

Ahmed Musa was the star player in Nigeria's U-20 World Cup campaign in Colombia 2011 few months after helping Nigeria win the 2010 WAFU Cup held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.


The onetime record top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League was in the Super Eagles team that lifted the 2013 AFCON.


Musa scored twice in Nigeria's 3-2 defeat to Argentina at the 2014 World Cup, and also scored a brace four years later as the Eagles defeated Iceland 2-0 at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.


He was born on October 1992 in Jos, Nigeria. He plays as a utility forward in the Nigerian national team, The Super Eagles.


Ahmed Musa lost his father in 1999 when he was just 7 years old. His mother continued to support the family, alongside his 4 sisters. His mother passed away unfortunately in 2019.


In 2014, Ahmed Musa became the first Nigerian to score more than one goal in the 2014 FIFA world cup match against Argentina.


He also scored twice against Iceland in the group stage in the 2018 FIFA world cup. At the grassroot he was raised by GBS football( care of coach Bros) academy in Jos. In 2008, he was loaned to JUTH.FC, where he played in 18 games. He was then sent to Kano Pillars Fc on another loan. He used to hold the record for the highest goals ever made in one season in the Nigerian Premier League history. In 2010, Ahmed Musa was transferred to VVV-Venlo, a Dutch club but he was unable to play at the time because he was 17 years of age. He began to play for VVV-Venlo officially when he turned 18 on the 14th of 0ctober.

He also played for CSKA Moscow, a Russian based club between 2012 – 2016, where he scored 42 goals in 125 appearances, and winning the Russian Premier league 3 times; the Russian cup; and the Russian super cup. In July 2016 he was signed by Leicester City football club from England. His transfer fee was valued at 16.6 million pounds, but in January 2018 after making 21 appearances and scoring 2 goals, he moved back to CSKA Moscow football club on a loan from Leicester City from 2017-2018. In August 2018..he later moved Al- Nasr of Saudi Arabia.


Philanthropic wise he has touched numerous lives and offered scholarships, care and funds for the weak and down casted people .


No doubt he is one of the most influential footballers Nigeria has ever seen.
