After months of being sidelined by a crippling knee ligament injury, Sadiq Umar is back in action with his Spanish La Liga side, Real Sociedad.
The 25-year-old Sadiq was officially programmed to play in his first pre-season friendly, and the Super Eagles striker made the most of the opportunity, by applying a clinical finishing to score his first goal, in several months.
Like he's always been, Sadiq's inspiring performance on the day, his knack for goals and sense of precision when in front of the opponent's goal, remained undiluted and should never be undermined as the 2023/24 La Liga season, gets set to roll.
The gangling striker suffered the injury during Real Sociedad's fixture against Getafe, he later had to undergo surgery, and was later ruled out of the remainder of the season.
Sociedad's doctors had predicted that the former Almeria player will be out for at least six months, but with a lot of hard work done, Sadiq has shown that he could return for the White and Blues, earlier than planned.
To Sadiq Umar, and his fans who are fully aware that he returned from such a lengthy injury layoff, and was able to start the pre-season with a bang. It is hoped that the goals will keep coming, especially during the season proper.
