Afcon 2021: No country is a push over, says Peter Ijeh

Former Nigeria international, Peter Ijeh believes the Super Eagles will qualify from group D of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations ahead of Egypt, Sudan and others.


In a chat with www.ckdmedia.ng,

Ijeh admitted that Egypt poses a threat to the aspiration of the Super Eagles but urged the West African not to underestimate group rivals likes of Sudan and Guinea Bissau.


"I think Guinea Bissau is a strong contender and Sudan could be tricky and a spoiler if care is not taken," Ijeh said.


The former Malmo Fc of Sweden striker calls for early preparations towards the Afcon tournament, hoping government will do the needful to avoid fire brigade approach.


"Early preparation and conducive environment is very important in building up for the games," he further noted.


According to Ijeh, Nigeria should qualify from the group but without working hard, It is impossible.


"In as much as soccer has evolved in this last decade..No country is a push over, every game must be taken serious," he concluded.
