Sequel to her excellent performance at the just concluded 2023 Diamond League final, Oluwatobi Amusan will in addition to lifting the much coverted trophy and all the bragging rights that comes with it, will as well be earning a whopping sum of 55 million Naira; that's about USD 56,000 as prize money.
Amusan, having participated in three series of the Diamond League meetings, in Stockholm (Sweden), Silesia in Poland, and in Eugene, Oregon, (USA); came first in two and was second in the very first one, that's in Sweden.
With these, and despite the failure if the world champion to defend her title, at the World Athletics Championships held last month in Budapest, capital of Hungary; Amusan is still the world record holder in the Women’s 100 meters Hurdles event, and her time of 12:12 Seconds set last year in Eugene (2022), subsists and was rarely challenge throughout the out-gone season.
At the Diamond League, athletes often participate in a series of meetings before the event's final, which is held within two days.
