West African Football Union (WAFU) has named five players from Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets team as part of the best eleven players of the tournament which Nigeria won in Cape Coast, Ghana last weekend.
Nigeria’s poster boy, Emmanuel Michael made the tournament’s best team alongside defenders Jeremiah Olaleke, Yahaya Lawali and Goalkeeper, Richard Odoh, while in attack Abubakar Abdullahi Idris also made the cut.
Mercurial left back, Emmanuel Michael made the Best XI as the best left back while right back Yahaya Lawali also made the team. In completing the defence, Nigeria’s central defender Jeremiah Olaleke was chosen as part of a defensive pair with Yameogo of Burkina Faso, while Eaglets’ shot stopper, Richard Odoh was selected as the best goalkeeper.
In the attack, Nigeria’s Abubakar Lawal was selected as part of a two man attack with Yamas Ali of Niger Republic
Burkina Faso produced 3 players in the Best XI while one each came from Niger Republic, Cote D’Ivoire and Benin Republic.
