March, 25 2023.

Niger Tornadoes on Saturday edged Dakkada FC of Uyo 2-1 in the only Day 10 fixture, as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) resumed from its mid-season and General Elections break.

Tornadoes raced into the lead as early as the 6th minute, as David Okoromi and Emmanuel Jonas doubled the advantage for the Ikon Allah Boys, 9 minutes later.

The home side then woke up from their slumber, and had half chances they could not convert, until late in the game when Aniekan Okon Ekpe halved the deficit from the penalty spot, deep into second half stoppage time, but that was all, as Tornadoes ran away with all 3 points, and the first road win of the second stanza.

The victory means Tornadoes increased their points tally to 15, and moved from seventh on the Group B log to fourth, while Dakkada FC remained bottom of the log, with 7 points from 10 games played.

The remaining nine Day 10 fixtures of the league, are billed for Sunday at approved match venues, across the country.
